The dishwasher is a kitchen aid that is not exactly a new invention and in our country is considered a luxury rather than a necessity. However, during the pandemic when our Household help was stuck in quarantine and more and more households considered getting a trusty dishwasher.
We are here with a clear-cut guide to help you with your decision-making in finding the right Dishwasher for your home. Or, at the very least, help you gain perspective on why you need a dishwasher now.

1. What’s My Initial Budget?

Your budget is an important consideration when buying any item, not just when looking for a dishwasher. A single purchase should not deplete your entire savings.
Research the price range of the different dishwasher units and give yourself a rough estimate on how much you want to save or splurge. There are many online platforms where you can compare prices without going out. You also must take advantage of the different discounts and vouchers offered online!

2. Are There Any Specs I Want?

Where do you plan to place your dishwasher? Try to find out the specific measurements you need to ensure that you have enough space. Figure out what type of dishwasher you want and how much space you have for it. There are portable, countertop, in-sink, under-sink, and other dishwashers with approximate dimensions.
If you’re also after a particular style or aesthetic, you need to ask yourself what color or finish you want the dishwasher to be.
Lastly, looking at a dishwasher’s overall performance and features should be your main priority. Check how many cycle options it has, its cleaning and drying performance, what kind of filters it uses, and research the materials used in the dishwasher. Make sure to always get your money’s worth. Don’t be afraid to ask around and double-check!

3. How Many Dishes Can It Load?

Think back and estimate the number of dishes your household usually uses after every meal. How many plates, glasses, and utensils do your family typically use?
Maybe they all fit in a small-sized dishwasher if they’re stacked correctly. Or if you have a large family, perhaps a bigger one is more suitable. Either way, it’s up to you to decide.
It would help if you also looked at how you want your dishes cleaned. Are your plates easy to wash, or do they need extra time to eliminate the excess grease and oil? You can look at the different washing cycles of your unit to see which one suits your needs the best after loading your dishwasher. The AVA Mini Dishwasher actually has 5 Cycles: Standard (69 minutes per cycle), Quick (29 minutes per cycle), Economic (59 minutes per cycle), Strong (89 minutes per cycle), and Fruit (19 minutes per cycle). Our model only uses up a maximum of about 5 liters at a time. You can rest assured that your water is being used efficiently, no matter which cycle you choose or how many dishes need cleaning.

4. Will It Be Too Noisy?

Background noise might be an issue if you have family members studying or working from home. Nowadays, many dishwasher models don’t make much noise anymore, but some still do. Dishwasher noise levels are in “A-weighted decibels,” or dBA, which measures how loud something sounds. Anything under 45dB may be considered to be very quiet, most dishwashers are at 46-60 dB.
A noisy unit can become too distracting, and you don’t want that when you are in a meeting or if you’re entertaining guests at your home.

5. How Energy Efficient Is Your Unit?

Ideally, you’ll have your dishwasher for a very long time. You’d probably want to consider how much power your unit would need to function correctly. After all, higher electricity bills are something that no one wants. Fortunately, you can usually inquire from your seller or salesperson if you want to know the specifics. For example, the AVA Mini Dishwasher only uses around 900 watts per cycle and has a voltage of 60 Hz. Other dishwashers can take up around 1200 to 2400 watts per cycle. This is why it is always important to do your research on a unit before committing to buying one.
